Quartetting brings more exhilaration, learning, and friendship to our members. Crystal Chords is proud to have many quartets in our midst available for performances.
Dreamcatchers
Charlene, Jan, Anne and Jo got together to form Dreamcatchers back in 2022 (or was it 2021? who knows – we’re pretty relaxed about everything,)
We laughed a lot and learned a lot as we explored the nuances of many different songs.
When Anne was unable to continue with the chorus and the quartet, Becky stepped in to sing tenor. Becky has sung in 17 barbershop quartets across the USA, and is a Harmony Queen (international champion.) Charlene has 27 years experience singing barbershop, and has performed with choruses, choirs and quartets.
Jan plays several musical instruments, has sung in church choirs all her life and has been singing barbershop for six years. Jo’s sum total of adult musical experience consisted of singing in the car until she joined Crystal Chords a few years back, but the others let her tag along anyway.
In harmonizing together, our friendship has blossomed and grown.
Singing in the community is our favorite thing. We are available for daytime performances.

MetaFour
MetaFour (“M4”) originally formed in February 2022 with 2 of its members being
rand new not only to quartetting but also to barbershop singing in general. The
other 2 members had almost 50 years of barbershop experience collectively.
The learning curve was…very curvy. However, the “rules” of barbershop won –
the friendship, camaraderie and love of singing together blossomed.

The M4 lineup changed slightly in 2024, with a new member adding yet another 30+ years of experience. These ladies continue to learn, laugh, and grow with their music and with each other.

Velvet Crush
Velvet Crush is a new quartet made up of members from four different states! The lead of this quartet is Jen Wheaton, a two time Harmony Inc Queen, HI Singing Judge, and coach based out of Louisville, KY. She also is the assistant director of Great River Voices, a BHS mixed chorus in Louisville. The bass is Jessica Rhodes, a second generation barbershopper of over 15 years and performance captain of the Crystal Chords, who hails from Horsehead, NY. The tenor is Ginny Corradino from Lawrenceville, GA. She is the tenor section leader for Atlanta Harmony Celebration! and also a member of Song of Atlanta Show Chorus. Katy Galvin rounds out the bunch on baritone and sings in Palmetto Vocal Project mixed chorus in Charleston, South Carolina. This long distance quartet loves to travel, and loves to learn lots of music! They would love to come to your chapter for a show!

Vivàce
Vivàce has been singing together in this formation since January 2023. Members of the quartet are from Corning, Ithaca, Rochester, and Watertown. Needless to say, they make their rehearsals count when they have them! Donna is a founding member of Crystal Chords and the chorus’s interim musical director. Jessi and Lorie are members of the award-winning Northern Blend Chorus in Watertown, NY. Although Amy is not currently singing in a chorus, she is a second-generation barbershopper with years of experience in choruses and quartets. The members of Vivàce have achieved multiple quartet and chorus championships and awards.
